Confirmation
About the Sacrament
Most students prepare to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation during their 8th grade year. Sacramental preparation for Confirmation is a two-year program comprised of classes, parent meetings, and retreats.
Confirmation is a Sacrament of Initiation. It is important that the student is an active member of the parish community into which he or she is being initiated. We ask that your student have regular attendance at Mass.
Adults interested in celebrating the Sacrament of Confirmation are invited to join us at RCIA.
“Baptism, the Eucharist, and the sacrament of Confirmation together constitute the ‘sacraments of Christian initiation,’ whose unity must be safeguarded. It must be explained to the faithful that the reception of the sacrament of Confirmation is necessary for the completion of baptismal grace. For by the sacrament of Confirmation, [the baptized] are more perfectly bound to the Church and are enriched with a special strength of the Holy Spirit. Hence they are, as true witnesses of Christ, more strictly obliged to spread and defend the faith by word and deed.”

RCIA — Rite Of Christian Initiation
Adults wishing to explore the Catholic Faith are invited to our gatherings on Tuesday Evenings from 6:00-7:30pm at the Holy Family Parish Center (642 S. Wolcott).
RCIA is the way that the Catholic Church helps people prepare for life as an adult Catholic.
- Do you have questions about the Catholic Faith and not Catholic?
- Are you a Christian who wants to learn more about Catholicism?
- Has God been calling you to consider Catholic Christian Faith?
- Are you an adult Catholic who has never received First Holy Communion
If you answered ‘yes’ to any of these questions, then please consider attending RCIA.
